We had the BEST day with Captains Jen and JR! They picked us up right from the dock where our cruise ship came in and told us they were taking us to a hot spot a little further out than they usually go “because that’s where the fish are!” While we were cruising out, we enjoyed their homemade salmon dip, freshly baked cookies and brownies. Within 45 minutes, we had our lines out and the fish were immediately biting! 3 hours later, we had 39 salmon between the 4 of us in our family—16 coho, 22 pinks and a chum. My husband caught a 16 pound coho and our son and grandson weren’t far behind. I didn’t do too bad myself either 3 cohos and 2 pinks, all 10-14 pounds! We had one fish after another on our line while Jenn coached and cheered us and JR netted and casted and trolled the boat in a gorgeous Alaskan setting. It was the best excursion of our cruise and we made memories that will last forever. Jen was sooo funny and sooo much fun besides being incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. JR is much more reserved but truly the image of a fun crusty sailor once he gets going! When we came back into port beside our cruise ship, we felt like celebrities with our catch of the day on display. Great company and great people! Our fishing trip with Experience One Charters was one of the greatest fishing trips I have ever experienced. Linda was helpful setting it up and Captain Jen was waiting for us with snacks and homemade salmon dip. We caught our limit while enjoying the Alaskan scenery. They even dropped us off close to town and had the fish processed, vacuum packaged and shipped home for us (paid extra but worth it). Now to learn to duplicate the fish dip!

Jen the first mate and Linda’s daughter was fantastic!  JR her cousin and the captain put us on fish and provided us with a great time!

This was the best experience for grabbing for our group of 14. With 6 kids. Nothing beats the service and friendliness of this crew. We grabbing for a few hours, Jen and JR gave us the full grabbing experience including a crab boil with the best crab I have ever had. I would recommend this crew time and time again. "I have had the best fishing experience with Experience One Charters! I have book with Jen and her crew for 4 years in a row. Brought my wife last year 2025 for her first time in Alaska. She enjoyed the whole experience fishing, sights, and the crew. The team was incredibly accommodating, keeping the energy high and the lines tight in any weather condition even in rainy weather. Caught plenty of fish, and the staff was fantastic with providing snacks and amazing smoked salmon dip. Professional, fun, and highly recommended!"
